Thanks to the advantage of total land area of over 84,000 hectares, THACO AGRI invests in raising semi-grazing reproductive cows, gazing beef cattle and concentrating feed for fattening cattle in Cambodia, Laos and the Central Highlands (Vietnam) with a herd size of over 63,400 heads.
THACO AGRI has been supplying fattening cows to the domestic market and aims to export with nearly 6,200 heads sold in 2022.
We identifies cow breeds as one of the important factors that make up the quality of beef output. Therefore, THACO AGRI's cows are all foreign breeds with a dressing percent of over 40%, so they can bring high economic value. They are also suitable for weather and breeding conditions in Vietnam.
THACO AGRI imports heifers from Australia for raising and crossbreeding, breeding of breeding cows. Up to now, the company is breeding 7 breeds of cows, including: Red Brahman, Gray Brahman, White Brahman, Droughtmaster, and 3 hybrid breeds Brahman x Charolais, Brahman x Angus, Brahman x Senepol.
In particular, the Brahman breed maximizes hybrid superiority during crossbreeding and is known for its muscular body and superior meat production compared to other cattle breeds with humps. Brahman beef has a characteristic flavor, lean meat, so it is low in fat and cholesterol but still retains its smoothness and richness.
In some experiments, Droughtmaster cows showed better average daily weight gain than other breeds. Droughtmaster beef is of high quality, beautiful color, evenly distributed fat to keep the meat with a certain moist tenderness. The marbling on the main Droughtmaster beef makes a great combination with any dish.
With a different beef cattle breeding orientation, THACO AGRI breeds calves and breeding cattle in a large-scale semi-grazing model on grass farms and concentrates farming during the fattening period; Combining special care, correct procedures, and separate TMR (Total Mixed Ration) for each stage of breeding, meeting the feed and nutritional needs required at the complexes. The company is planning a grass farm of nearly 2,400 hectares, which is expected to increase to 3,900 hectares by the end of this year to raise cows.
In addition, the barn systems are designed to be modern, airy, comfortable with biological padding, ensuring the beef quality meeting the standards.
