Workers' simple joy during durian harvest season
After the fruit care period, Cao Nguyen Durian Enterprise begins its durian season with positive prospects: full, round fruits, and many fruit-laden trees.
The enterprise currently manages 456 hectares of durians at Ia Bang and Ia Pech farms (in Chu Prong and Ia Grai districts, Gia Lai province), mainly Dona and Musang king varieties. According to plan, by July 2025, about 100 hectares of durians will be harvested, with estimated output of 1,000 tons.
To ensure durians meet the highest standards, the enterprise applies organic cultivation and care management processes on a modern industrial platform. From variety selection to cultivation techniques, all stages are carried out systematically, ensuring durian trees develop healthily, with stable yields and uniform quality, meeting Global GAP standards.
The green, fruit-laden durian gardens are a combination of efforts and responsibility of the orchadist team. Every day, they are busy with weeding and pruning branches. Thanks to this, trees have airy canopies, balanced light and nutrition, less fungal diseases, and increased fruit setting rates.
Ms. Tran Thi Tra My, a durian care worker at Ia Bang 2 Farm shared: "Going to the orchard every day, seeing the fruits grow bigger over time, and there are many of them, we are so happy. All the efforts have paid off."
Mr. Nong Van Thai, a durian care worker at Ia Bang 3 Farm said: "There are days when we have to work under the scorching sun or until late at night. But thinking about harvest day, durians will be exported everywhere, that really delights us and keeps us trying every day".
