Koun Mom Complex cultivates and harvests green-skin pomelos
Andong Meas Pomelo Farm in Koun Mom Complex (Cambodia) cultivates 270 hectares of green-skin pomelos, yielding hundreds of tons of fruit each year. During the July to September harvest season this year, the farm's hard work paid off with a harvest of 45 tons of pomelos.
The soil and climate conditions at Koun Mom Complex provide a thriving haven for green-skin pomelos, making them effortless to cultivate and nurture. As a result, the fruit is resilient against pests and drought, offering exceptional economic value.
The complex employs a comprehensive pest management strategy, using different techniques and methods to safeguard the pomelos from pests such as citrus leafminers, rusts, bugs, and spiders. These pomelos boast a healthy green color, smooth skin, and pink flesh, captivating domestic consumers and earned acclaim for their quality.
Mr. Huynh Duy Vu, the farm manager said, “We are engaged in the restoration and improvement of our farmlands, getting them ready for our 2024 production plan. We are also expanding the area for pomelo cultivation together with cattle farming to achieve a synergistic combination, boosting profits at the complex.”
