HAGL Agrico Laos complex turns Southern Laos into a thriving agricultural hub
Southern Laos' Attapeu and Sekong provinces once face significant agricultural challenges due to arid conditions and poor infrastructure. Residents depended on traditional farming that generated minimal income, forcing them to go elsewhere in search of better living.

Since 2019, HAGL Agrico Laos has pursued a large-scale, integrated, and organic-based industrial agricultural strategy. Across 27,384 hectares, the company has established enterprises specializing in banana, grass, and mango cultivation, alongside cattle farming.

By 2024, the complex has made significant progress, channeling resources to enhance operational efficiency and realizing its vision of transforming Southern Laos into a leading green and sustainable agricultural hub. Once barren land is now being replaced by lush banana fields, modern cattle farms, and advanced agricultural infrastructure.

The complex's circular production model delivers economic efficiency while optimizing resource uses, repurposing agricultural by-products as livestock feed and fertilizer, and minimizing environmental impact.

The company currently employs more than 6,200 workers, with over 4,600 local laborers now enjoying stable jobs and improved incomes. Employees are provided with free accommodations, three meals a day, preschools for their children, and other welfare facilities to enhance their life. Additionally, the complex collaborates with organizations to conduct modern farming technique training sessions, equipping local workers with new knowledge and technologies.

Through a structured investment approach, HAGL Agrico Laos has not only established a significant agricultural production zone but also contributed to transforming livelihoods in Southern Laos, making a positive impact on local socio-economic development.
