Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee delegation visits Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Company
On December 17, a delegation from the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, led by Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Rah Lan Chung, visited and worked with Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Co., Ltd.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Nguyen Huu Que, Vice Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, leaders from the Departments of Planning & Investment, Agriculture & Rural Development, Natural Resources & Environment, and representatives from Party Committees and People's Committees of the Chu Prong and Phu Thien Districts. THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong and leaders from THACO AGRI and Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Co., Ltd., welcomed the delegation.
During the meeting, representatives from THACO AGRI reported on the investment strategy and plans for their projects in Gia Lai province. According to the report, Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Co., Ltd. was established in 2020 to pilot a "semi-grazing beef and breeding cattle farming" project on 155 hectares in Ia Puch commune, Chu Prong district, with a herd size of up to 25,000 cattle. The project was approved by the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee on January 21, 2021, with a total investment of over VND 1,162 billion and a breeding capacity of 100,000 cattle per year.
Building on initial success, Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Co., Ltd. proposed that the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee approve to adjust its current project to "Forestry Planting Combined with Cattle Breeding," aiming to plant forest trees with grass for feed, raising beef cattle and fattened beef cattle in both semi-grazing and concentration models. This project covers over 1,936 hectares, including 1,768 hectares for forest trees and grass, with a herd size of 51,000 cattle and a breeding capacity of 110,000 cattle per year. The area for barns and auxiliary facilities exceeds 168 hectares, with a total projected capital of VND 4,380 billion. The company currently employs over 1,100 workers, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
During the meeting, leaders from THACO AGRI and Trung Nguyen Cow Livestock Co., Ltd. requested the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee to approve adjustments to Chu Prong district's land use plan until 2030, approve the "Forest Planting Combined with Cattle Breeding" project in Ia Puch commune, Chu Prong district, and allow the company to convert its land to concentrated livestock land across 168 hectares, among other related matters.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Rah Lan Chung, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, emphasized: "The province highly appreciates THACO AGRI's large-scale projects that apply high-tech agriculture, aligning with our development orientation and planning. In the coming time, the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee will direct departments and sectors to coordinate with THACO AGRI to find solutions to address current challenges, bringing the project into operation soon. This is not only an economic project but also has significant national defense implications."
The meeting affirmed the close cooperation between local authorities and THACO AGRI, promising positive outcomes for Gia Lai province in the near future.
