Agricultural workers work more professionally with 5S
At the BP1.B Banana Factory in the Snuol Complex, Ms. Thouen Kakada (Vacuum worker) and Ms. Toeur Neak (Worker removing packing materials) are celebrated for their dedication to the 5S and Kaizen workplace improvement methodologies. Their commitment to organization, cleanliness, and continuous improvement has demonstrably created a safer, more efficient, and productive work environment, serving as a true inspiration to those around them.
Ms. Thouen Kakada and Ms.Toeur Neak consistently arrive early to prepare their workspace. They meticulously organize their tools and materials, ensuring their work area is clean and orderly. By keeping everything neatly arranged, they can locate and use tools efficiently, saving valuable time and boosting overall work productivity.
Ms. Toeur Neak shared: "Since the implementation of 5S, I've witnessed a clear shift towards a more professional work ethic and a stronger sense of teamwork. Personally, I've embraced these changes. After finishing my tasks, I take the initiative to clean the waiting area, properly sort and store used materials like foam liners, and ensure my cutting knife is cleaned and returned to its designated location before leaving for the day."
Her colleagues admire Ms. Kakada for her dynamism, sense of responsibility, and commitment to workplace safety and hygiene. They also recognize her willingness to share her experience and knowledge. Newcomers to the team especially benefit from her support and guidance. She helps them integrate smoothly into the work environment and develop their skills in implementing 5S and Kaizen principles.
Ms. Kakada said: "The 5S system has become an invaluable tool for me and my fellow workers on the production line. The organized and efficient work environment it fosters directly translates to a heightened sense of responsibility and awareness for each of us."
Last year, Ms. Thouen Kakada's commitment was recognized when she was awarded the title of outstanding worker. She was also among the first employees chosen to reside in the new BP1.B Banana Factory accommodation. These achievements are a source of pride for her, and she shared that they further motivate her to continually strive for excellence and contribute even more in her role.
