THACO AGRI invests in water filtering systems to provide clean water at complexes
Building a filtering system to provide clean water at THACO AGRI Complexes has effectively demonstrated the company's concerns for employees, including Cambodian and Lao workers. Now the workers can use clean water and work with comfort.
To increase workers' living standards, THACO AGRI's filtering system is providing clean water for Koun Mom and Snuol complexes in Cambodia and complexes in Laos. The system cleans water channeled directly from the thermal power plant for daily use after the first filtration, and then performs a second filtration using reverse osmosis (RO) technology, 500 liters per hour. The filtered drinking water meets QCVN 06-1:2010/BYT standards issued by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam. The most important advantage is that the system does not use any chemicals, so it is very eco-friendly, convenient, and easy to operate.
The Koun Mom Complex is housing about 12,000 people, including nearly 2,000 Vietnamese employees and more than 10,000 Cambodian workers working at Daun Penh, Lum Phat and Andong Meas companies. Currently, the water filtration systems installed at workers' housing areas can produce 500 liters per hour, a total of 9,000 liters of clean water for each area per day, equivalent to 5 liters for each person in a day.
The company distributes free clean water for all employees. 21-liter bottles are provided at the housing areas for the workers to take water at the station. At the kitchens and offices of the company, clean water after filtering is piped directly into a 2,000-liter tank to serve daily needs of employees. Water supply times are 5:00AM - 7:00AM, 11:00AM - 1:00PM, and 5:00PM - 9:00PM.
Mr. Phan Ba Cuong, a Deputy Director of Koun Mom Complex said, "In addition to developing production and business, creating jobs, providing health care, education and welfare, we are paying attention to health and well-being of all employees at the complex. So we regularly educate everyone to understand the value and benefits of clean water to their health. Therefore, people need to know that clean water should be used properly, for the right purposes and not in a wasteful fashion."
At the complexes in Laos and Snuol in Cambodia, the installation locations of such clean water supply and filtration systems have been studied and completed, expected to be implemented in September and October 2023.
